Site Agent
Salary: Point 16 £24,012 pro rata
The role is term time plus 3 weeks during the school holidays. The hours will be 27½ hours a week, split shift: 7:00am – 9:30am and 3:30pm – 6:30pm; exact daily hours are negotiable with the right candidate.

Visits to school will be warmly welcome, following COVID guidelines.
Due to the retirement of our current site agent we are looking to recruit a new Site Agent at Thomas Whitehead CE Academy to manage the school buildings and team of cleaners.

This job would suite someone who has a working knowledge of buildings/schools and Health and Safety requirements, as a certain amount of basic knowledge will be required. The site agent will be responsible for ensuring that the buildings are maintained to a high standard and Health and Safety compliance is maintained and records are kept up to date. You will be the primary keyholder and be prepared to attend out of hours emergency call outs. Previous experience in site work in a school setting is preferable but not essential as full training is available. The successful applicant will also be responsible for a small team of cleaners.
Thomas Whitehead became an Academy on 1st April 2017 as part of the Diocese of St Albans Multi Academy Trust. The Academy has an on-site pre-school and nursery taking children from 2 years of age to 11 years.

Your main duties will be:
- Supervise the small cleaning team and undertake some cleaning duties.
- Be the primary keyholder and the first point of contact for all emergency call outs and be responsible for site security.
- Ensure heating, lighting and alarm system are checked regularly to ensure they are operational.
- Carry out general maintenance, decoration and DIY.
- Be responsible for Health & Safety, undertaking all risk assessments and maintain clear and accurate records.
- Undertake checks and maintain records to meet statutory Health & Safety requirements e.g. COSHH, legionella, fire safety etc.
- Help ensure that the site and buildings are looked after/maintained to a high standard and kept safe for children, staff and visitors.
- Work closely with the School Business Manager and Headteacher.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies through the School Business Manager.
